win for mitt romney in dwiecision 2012. the republican presidential candidate picked up all 20 delegates in puerto rico. he's looking ahead to the next contest in illinois. romney says he is the only candidate who can beat president obama in november's general election. rick santorum and newt gingrich both have said that they plan to stay in the race. according to "the new york times," santorum's advisers are trying to persuade delegates to switch candidates if romney is the projected nominee at june's republican convention. >>> and the candidates are now looking ahead to the primary entertainment mr. obama's home state of illinois. 54 delegates are up for grabs in that contest. illinois is a so-called loophole primary which means that there's a popular vote and also a separate vote for the 54 delegates. santorum is only eligible for 44 of those delegates because he's not on the ballot in all of illinois's districts. santorum says he guarantees, though, that he will become the party's presidential unemploymenominee if he wins tomorrow's primary. polls have shown republican vote

romney and rick santorum have made ohio their focus. according to recent polls, they're in a dead heat. the results here could indicate whether the gop primary will wrap up quickly or drag on much longer. another key state to keep an eye on during this race is going to be tennessee today. we expect there that you're going to see santorum continue to lead in the polls and mitt romney and gingrich are actually not far behind him. romney's poll numbers are up quite a bit in recent days, setting the stage for a possible upset win there. gingrich has said that super tuesday would reignite his campaign. and he's looking to southern states like tennessee to make that happen. pundits say that gingrich does have to win his home state of georgia. the state relevant in the race here. georgia will deliver the largest share of delegates today. 76. some states won't be closely watched. romney expected to win big in virginia, vermont, and in massachusetts. rick santorum likes his chances in oklahoma. ron paul focusing all of his attention on alaska, idaho, and north dakota, where he could see his fir
